Adult Weight Managment

We often hear the term “healthy eating” but there is a vast range of quirky diets out there seem never ending, changing month to month, year to year, intending to give us the motivation to change, but instead leaves us feeling guilty or disappointed if we can't stick to it, or we haven't lost the weight we set out to lose.  Andrea will listen, without judgement, to help you work towards the dietary goals you want to achieve, that will fit into your lifestyle - for the long term - for a healthier and happier life.

IBS

Bloating, wind, discomfort, running to the toilet often... IBS is a difficult condition to manage, and one that can significantly impact on how we function in every day life.  Andrea will listen to your concerns and look in depth at your diet to help identify any potential trigger foods, whilst ensuring that any dietary changes are practical, and you continue to provide the nutrition your body needs.  In up to 70% of cases, following a Low Fodmap diet (a group of carbohydrates that are difficult for our body to digest) for 4-6 weeks can significantly improve symptoms; the reintroduction phase then allows us to identify the trigger foods that may be influencing your symptoms. 

Andrea will discuss with you whether this is the right diet plan for you, and guide you through the process safely, to ensure you are still meeting your nutritional requirements. 

Food Allergy or Intolerance

Have you or your child been diagnosed with a Non IgE Mediated allergy?  Or are you concerned about a possible food intolerance? Andrea will help you to make dietary changes whilst ensuring you continue to have a healthy & balanced diet. We can arrange a brief phone call prior to your consultation to ensure that this is the right service for you.

Child Nutrition

Children are the focus of our worlds and we want to make sure they are getting the best possible nutrition to grow up to meet their full potential.  But this is often easier said than done!  Whether its concerns related to growth or weight gain, cow's milk protein allergy, fussy eating or if you are simply curious to know whether your child is getting the vitamins and minerals they need from their diet, Andrea will listen to your concerns and provide strategies and support to help overcome these challenges, and transition your family to a more relaxed and happy mealtime.    

Menopause

Research has shown that improving the nutritional quality of our diets, and moving towards a healthy weight can help to improve our health and wellbeing, reduce the risks of heart problems, as well as potentially alleviating some of the unfavourable symptoms that many women experience during the perimenopause and menopause.  The shift in our hormone balance can significantly impact on our ability to function as we would like to, and although nutrition alone may not be the whole solution, it can certainly be a big factor in how we feel.   Andrea will listen to your concerns and any challenges you are facing with your diet and support you to make the changes you need for a healthier and happier lifestyle. 

Nutritional Analysis

Looking at the diet in close detail is a great way to see which nutrients your diet has a lot of, and which nutrients you may need to have slightly more of.  By keeping a 3, 5 or 7 day food diary, Andrea can look in depth at your diet / your child’s diet, and provide you with a written report detailing which vitamins and minerals you may need to have more of in your diet.  There is also an option to book an appointment afterwards, to discuss in more detail, or if there was a specific concern you are struggling with.
